Murder in the music scene? (updated) - by N.L. Belardes

Photo from half an hour ago...
Am I beating the Californian again?

There's word on the street that last night Downtown Joe's experienced its second murder in two years. That would certainly alleviate Gigantic from anyone ever accusing them of creating a violent scene when a year ago a Downtown Joe's patron shot a Gigantic patron in the head. Downtown Joe's had blamed Gigantic and vice versa.

Downtown Joe's, on the corner of Eye Street and 19th is in the heart of the music scene but is a dance venue. No bands ever play there... this is an urban dance crowd...

Word on the street indicates the death was caused by a bouncer(s)? The word murder was used... I looked for police tape and saw none...but that didn't mean there wasn't a murder...

Does the violent scene have anything to do with
clientele brought on by a new liquor license?
Likely not... has this business gotten out of
hand in how it subdues patrons in fights?

Info from the Bakersfield Police Department crime scene website as police responded to 1-3 9-11 calls in the area (not related to punker fight on Chester Ave):
