Gossip in the music scene - By N.L. Belardes

Here's a bit of gossip by Miss Light who had a run in with Jerry's folks and then discusses why she was banned from the Pizza-a-go-go. There's a clear dislike for Jerry's, but I do have to say, that at least one of the folks she referred to as a 'goon' helped set up LA band Drowse at the Mint on Saturday night when locals, the Kookoonauts cancelled out. Rumor has it that one of the Kookoo boys broke an arm. That and Smashtastic, I mean, Seantastic of Karmacrunchlist breaking bones, these local boys need to take it easy... I also saw Sean Knight at the Empty Space Theatre supporting Mike Biagiotti's art show and another Drowse performance. I wouldn't call him a goon. I would call him a supporter of the arts. Much of the rest of the Bakersfield music scene including Miss Light were a no show...

Cesareo Garasa has started a blog. His words to me were, "I feel like I just gave birth. You blogger guys/gals look like you're having a blast!" Read what he has to say about two musician types: The cat, and the band guy.

Skinnygirlfatgirl talks it up about food and now I'm starving.

Matildakay grumbles and rumbles about a $3.00 bracelet and miner boy Holliday without his beard.

Heath Dobbler tells a teary-eyed story about giving up bass playing for some band he was in called the 28s. I don't believe it for a second. He probably plays punk music in his sleep. I'm telling you, between he, Rob Shock and Clay Pigeon, these guys are very talented but seem to have a bad marriage and not so good break-up. I'm going to offer them N.L. Belardes counseling, my own off-brand of anger management (it won't help, I'm too angry of an artist) three lollipops, and a hug at my next BBQ (ducking Heath swinging his bass at my head).
