Skinnygirlfatgirl gets in on the DIM action - By N.L. Belardes

Here's a letter fresh from the land of Chicago bloggers sent in regards to a recent DIM-related post. Skinnygirlfatgirl throws in her nickel for what it's worth on just a teensy segment of the Bakersfield music scene from the distant past...

Nick,

Clearly our dear friend Rob mistook the words you
wrote in your blog. It is true that Rob was a mess
back then and everybody knew it. It is not like you
were the first to point it out. It is also true that
he did get fired from Dim. I remember how appalled we
all were and how heartbroken and angry Rob was. I
remember that we said Dim would never be the same without
Rob and they never were. You could tell that
from their "comeback" show and by their demise
after the axing of Rob.

I am also confused about Rob saying you dissed Jumping
Trains. We both loved Jumping Trains and I still have
a tape of theirs that I occasionally listen to.

It seems to me that you were trying to point out in
your blog how Dim did change after Rob. What is he so
angry about? I think this is a case of a misread
blog, or of somebody not having anything better to do
besides count his "fat bank account".

I do want to point out one thing you got wrong in your
blog though. You said that we were in the Swing Cafe
a few weeks after Rob had been fired from Dim when the
bartender played their cd. It was actually the very
day he got fired and we were there to console him.
We were all sad. Maybe he forgets that. By the way,
is Rob still living at home? Tell him I said hi!
