More on Jane Friday - By N.L. Belardes

Here's a great email just hot off the press titled, "In the days of my youth, I was told what it meant to be a man." It's from a Michael Llewellyn, clearly a member of the local scene in the Jane Friday heyday... he writes:

I remember when the Jane Friday crew used to run this town, playing
shows and eating the awkward pop-punk boys for breakfast lunch and
even brunch. These were the days when it was not whack to play a
stratocaster, and cover it in vinyl stickers. A memory comes to the
top of watching Lindsey drench her red Gibson flying V in blood until
the white pickguard vanished entirely. A little gross, kind of hot,
and absolutely one of the most rock n' roll things I've ever seen.
Ohp! There goes my weak gag reflex.

Now that is a great email about what it was to be in the Bakersfield scene and witness Jane Friday!
