CWC Writers Read Podcast – hosted by Bakersfield’s Buck City Podcast coming in November, 2005 - by N.L. Belardes

The Buck City Podcast is proud to present as part of Cerro Coso Community College’s new Creative Writing Community, a reading contest to get your fiction read. Author and show host N.L. Belardes is teaming up with Gary Enns in a promotional podcast to illuminate creative writing in the Southern San Joaquin Valley and nearby desert valley literary culture.

“We want to give one or more members of the new CWC the chance to have a portion of their work read on a global podcast,” says N.L. “Podcasts are a great way to let the world know that you’re a serious artist in any scene. We’ve got listeners all over North America and Europe.”

As a feature of the CWC November Workshop the CWC Writers Read Podcast will be a kind of publishing experience similar to "Valley Writers Read."

“What many local writers don’t realize is that once they write some worthy fiction, it’s actually difficult to get your work read on the radio. As part of the workshop that I’ve been invited to, I wanted to show the local writing community that the Buck City Podcast is a great way to get heard by others," says N.L.

The CWC has a site where you can sign up. There's also a related blog titled Ruined By Books run by Cerro Coso professor Gary Enns who talks about guest authors, interviews me and discusses the November 14-30 workshop.
