NL is a bully of the worst kind. Where do I begin? First, you have attempted to BULLY the local media into being more vigilant about their coverage of local arts. The NERVE! Thankfully, the Californian is strong and will not buckle under your wrath, EVEN when you used their own weapon against them. JOURNALISM! Where do you get off, bub? Second, not only have you tried to coerce the media into doing a better job of covering the arts, you have had the GALL to lead by example. You have gone out and beat the streets, and done it as a regular middle class guy (as you have pointed out) without pay, and while raising kids, and etc. How dare you, sir. Showing the Californian how good entertainment reporting is done is insulting and rude. Have you no concern for their feelings? You should stop this instant and let less-than-mediocre coverage be the only coverage local arts gets. Local artists were happy with that before you came along and ruined it with your "caring" and your "interest." Third, I am upset about this not just as a caring member of the community who is sad to see the poor Californian beaten ugly by you and your big blog, I am also a VICTIM. Yes, truly. NL showed up (out of the BLUE) at a local arts event I helped put on and BULLIED me personally. He wrote a really awesome article about my event and posted some cool pictures as well. I was intimidated. Now, I visit his website several times a week. This kind of coercion was supposed to have dissapeared with the Italian Mafia. I am scared. In fact, I am truly afraid that if I don't read NL's blog and participate in local arts, he just might show up AGAIN and support our work. This kind of intimidation is NOT appreciated in Bakersfield. Thankfuly no other media in Kern County will stoop to this level to connect with the local arts community, so we are safe for now. I am sad to see on NL's website that hundreds, perhaps thousands of other local arts people have been victimized by NL and his blatant, ruthless blogging and podcasts. I am founding a support group.
