Name the N.L. Belardes blog contest! - By N.L. Belardes
Hello readers,
Originally I named the blog portion of nlbelardes.com, N.L. Belardes: Bakersfield Music Gossip and the Arts for the Californian (Bakersfield.com) as part of their blog community. It was part of my goodwill gesture in being affiliated with them. It went through a minor editing process. I think one suggestion had the words 'Paperback Writer' in it as a tribute to novels and music.
If you're a regular reader you know I am no longer affiliated with the Bakersfield Californian through reasons brought about by Danielle Belton's lack of interest in Lords: Part One, the literary arts community, and her subsequent lies about Californian policy regarding what she considered 'self published' local literary works; I will refer to such works from here on out as 'gumstick novels'.
I kind of like that name.
"Hey dude, what do you write?"
"Gumstick novels..."
"Whoah."
I am tired of the old name. It needs a freshening up. Something that doesn't remind one of big brick downtown buildings and screwy teachers who won't hand out gum to the whole class.
So I am taking suggestions. You send in your suggestions and I will gather them, have some pear ciders, throw them around in the air like bad poetry with my good friends, until one sticks. Go for it. Be creative. Be nasty. Be funny. Or just give a suggestion that will represent your art, music and theatre scene. I will even add suggestions of my own... oh, and whatever funny blog title you come up with, put N.L. Belardes in front of it.
