N.L. goes along with dead Preston gag, plays matchgame, talks scary Lords on The Puck Show - By N.L. Belardes
Yes, it was quite the afternoon on The Puck Show, Bakersfield's hottest afternoon radio show.

Preston and Puck

Puck and Preston
It all started with the gag that Preston Nash died. Puck was a blubbering crybaby on air, "He died last night at 9:30PM," he said.
And I played right along, "He was like a Roman Candle. We should do a tribute."
"No tribute," Puck growled. "Preston wouldn't have wanted that."

And on and on we went because Preston, with his bad back and running low on Vicatin was simply picked on for being late to the airing. All in good fun. We even took calls from irate callers: "If this is a joke this isn't funny," harped one caller.

Later we played matchgame with Blake Taylor of KERN 1410, Rocky Nash of KRAB 106.1, myself, and Kevin Bartl, once Condor man, now publicity guru for the Lowell Lochness Monster in Massachusetts. (You gotta dig Lowell, that's where literary post-modern hero Jack Kerouac is from (and buried)).
We had a hilarious time. I'm going to be throwing up the entire show as a podcast...
But then we talked Lords: Part One. We talked about if anyone were laying down threats. None. We talked about paranoid folks not wanting to walk around with the book. Hilarious. We spoke about the Californian being conspiracy theorists ( as well as myself), and we generally talked about literary arts in Bakersfield as well as some good hockey talk...
What a great show! Thanks for the plug about the Book Release Show that everyone is invited to this Saturday from 2-5 PM at Lengthwise Brewery here in Bakersfield...
