Pimpin' Dobbler - By N.L. Belardes
I don't know if any of you saw this coming. I did. I haven't known Heath Dobbler for very long, but just from reading his blog I can tell he has a deep-rooted love for punk. And that doesn't mean just listening to music. That means playing bass as well. He just couldn't give up his love. That would be like me giving up on writing. No matter how miserably we might fail, it's worse to live with regrets and resentment for not following through with dreams. Well now he's looking for a new band to be a part of. Here's his bio:
I played bass and was song writer/ vocalist in the punk band 3 Cent Nickle for approximately six years.
Samples can be heard at the 3Cn Myspace.
My interests lie in punk, rockabilly, and fifties rock 'n' roll. I play an Ibanez Soundgear four string bass, as well as a Rickenbacker four string bass through an Ampeg full stack.
I don't have a place to practice due to my biggest fans, the B.P.D. and the only p.a. I have access to is currently involved with the 28's and their rehearsal room.
Ideally I would like to put together a four piece but would settle in the meantime for a three.
My influences range in no particular order or fashion from Roy Orbison, Link Wray and the Reverend Horton Heat to that of Screeching Weasel, the Riverdales, the Queers and Face to Face.
You can read the rest of his entry here.
Do Heath a favor and get in touch with him before he starts spending too much time here...
