Where is Bakersfield Bob? - By N.L. Belardes
What a state the Bakersfield music scene is in… We have a radio DJ strangled and no one knows who killed her. That makes how many murders in the Bakersfield music and art scene in 2005? Daniel Sepeda, the Spotlight cook, possibly another in Jerry’s Pizza, and the KUZZ DJ? (read more on the Californian and how they got interested in the downtown scene)
I should add the local entertainment reporter for the Californian has not been seen in print for some time. She has gone where? I’m thinking that Danielle Belton must be OK, perhaps she’s just sitting around with the flu, or on vacation, or is happily pondering some grandiose piece of Baghdad Bob-style journalism since we haven’t heard from her in a while. You know the stuff she writes where she complains something to the effect of “Oh, I’m a one woman show workhorse writer kind of gal. I can’t get out to all the shows, but I love you all and especially Monty Byrom! And the Californian does not do book reviews or any of those hootenanny stories on books!” Yeah, the good old days. She always had time for Byrom…
While I’m reminiscing, I don’t know who I miss more, Belton or Baghdad Bob.
What? You already forgot about Baghdad Bob? You know all those great quotes so much like Beltonesque fashion attacks and excuses for not covering the ‘whole’ scene… Ahh, to see through the eyes of the Iraqi Information Minister. Let’s take a look at some of my favorites:
"There are no American infidels in Baghdad. Never!"
"My feelings - as usual - we will slaughter them all"
"Our initial assessment is that they will all die"
"We have destroyed 2 tanks, fighter planes, 2 helicopters and their shovels - We have driven them back."
"God will roast their stomachs in hell at the hands of Iraqis."
"They're coming to surrender or be burned in their tanks."
"No I am not scared, and neither should you be!"
"Be assured. Baghdad is safe, protected"
"I triple guarantee you, there are no American soldiers in Baghdad."
She hasn't written in her blog since November 17th. My last article that pointed any fingers the way of her or the Californian was on November 16th... though I hadn't picked on her since the day before that for the Californian dumping me from their blog community... you remember, her blog got booted from thebuzzblogs.com...
I noticed the Californian is doing another variation of a Condor’s blog. I find it hilarious how they keep grabbing my online ideas to expand to their needs to gain online traffic. And, not to mention another book review/article, which according to Belton, the Californian doesn’t do.
Ahh… the mysteries.
Come back, Bakersfield Bob! We miss you!
I hope the Californian doesn’t think I’m bullying again…
