Mission:Tonight to have reunion show - By N.L. Belardes
There's another reunion in Bakersfield that's about to explode. Oh yeah, it's Mission:Tonight this Friday night with Near Miss Mallet and Soulajar. Give Mission:Tonight's smooth vocals by front woman Fracina Turner a listen... and then read my interview with bass player, Mikee.

I talked to their old bass player, Mikee, and asked him a few questions about the upcoming show and Mission:Tonight:
Q: When was the last time Mission:Tonight performed?
A: The last time Mission:Tonight performed with Fracina was at the end of 2000.
Q: Why the reunion?
A: Fracina came back to Bakersfield to visit family. She moved to Germany with her husband in 2000 (he's in the military). During her visit we were all hanging out and we thought about doing a show, and we all starting laughing and the next day Jordan was like "Hey, why not?" So we started to get together and re-learn the songs. I would also like to add that another big reason for doing this show would be to get all of the old 'showgoers' to get out and support the scene. We also wanted a fun way to reunite with old friends.
Q: Whose idea was it to put on the show?
A: Fracina was the first to bring it up. Then Jordan and I thought about a reunion a bit more and came to them with a final, "Sure why not?"
Q: Have you all been practicing?
A: We have been practicing / re-learning the songs. It has been quite difficult since we haven't played in so long. But after a couple nights of work we are now ready to perform.
Q: Will the band get back together?
A: Fracina is going back to Germany on March 12th. So there is no way M:T will continue. Also, the second version of M:T with Elijah will also never get back together since he now lives elsewhere.

Btw, Danielle named MT's CD, Zimovia, the best local CD of 2003.
It's sitting right in front of me next to my beloved soundtrack to Mad Monster Party...
