the nlbelardes.com of theatre to be featured on TV today - By N.L. Belardes
Months ago I recommended to Aaron Mauldin to go with theatreaddict.com. I told him the url was catchy, fun and would generate more interest for his idea for an all-encompassing theatre website. "I want to be the nlbelardes.com of theatre," he said.
I was flattered.
Having helped start so many blogs, a blog community site, and to have inspired Aaron just gives me a great feeling. I debated with some theatre folks over the last year, telling them, "I could find just as many interesting stories in theatre as I do in music or any of the arts." At the time I wanted folks to do some writing for my site since I can't be everywhere at once. Now Aaron is going to prove just how rich theatre arts are in Bakersfield by using his talents to capture and document some of the goings on...
Bakersfield theatre is so dramatic at times, so balkanized, sometimes even uppity yuppity. But so what? There are stories to be covered, shows to be reviewed, and Aaron Mauldin is setting out to cover as much as he can.
Great job getting on the news, Aaron!
Although, why doesn't the news just go ahead and cover all of theatre...? Funny how they think Aaron's theatre site is newsworthy, but not all of theatre on a regular basis...
