Were Bakersfield circuit benders at Bent 2006 in New York? - By N.L. Belardes
There I was at Bakersfield's Spotlight Theatre a year ago listening to a sound guy talk all about Circuit Bending. Known on the Web as Bent Monkey Cage, Daniel Perry, an old hipster veteran talked about circuit implants, experimental human-to-machine synapse-driven interaction, and even took me to see some of his experimental circuit-bending work. Sure, I thought I was looking right into Ridley Scott's futuristic bent film, Blade Runner, with cyber people in a society of bent memories. But here was the real deal taking music and people-energy to an almost freakish new level. I stared at the old synthesizers and how a hand passing close could trigger sound as unique as the person tapped into the machine. He may have even had a circuit transplant in his arm. Not really sure, but I suspected it. A true cybernetic man-machine organism if it were true. Might have just been me imagining things.

Find him at bent monkey cage. You can even buy his book on circuit bending. From what I understand, there is quite the rivalry and controversy surrounding his theories and who gets credit...

Read what Yahoo News is saying about Bent 2006, a conference just for Circuit Benders.
Here's the official Bent 2006 site for you folks out there who want to experiment.
Not sure, these Bakersfield guys might have something to do with it. They do some cool trance stuff:

Never would I be a part of the NY Bent Scene Festival. It is for "DESK DRAWER AStonisment Followers"....or as some would say, "POSERS" in the Audio Circuitry MOD world.
I am visiting the states on September 17th. I am colaborating a session with lee Lee Daniel at Bent Monkey Cage. Our works will be published internationally. Circuit Bending has developed into an overlay with philosophy, science, technology and music. Our efforts in California will be phenomenal.
