Where is your heart today on Dia de Los Muertos? Is it with a loved one no longer here? Is it in irony, as you might want to join festivities that honor and mock death and life in a most humorous way?

Go to Golden State Plaza at 7:00PM for festivities. Dancing, art, music. An altar (ofrende) to the dead... afterwards I will be at the Silver Fox to see the Dalloways around 10PM. They''re dying to see you.

If you want to purchase a wonderful book on Dia de Los Muertos, the Oakland Museum of California and Heyday books recently published El Corazon de la Muerte. It's a beautiful book for only $25 that details Dia de Los Muertos history, while adding wonderful photos regarding the Oakland Exhibition and yearly festival there.

It's an honor to have a tribute in Bakersfield. I hear there are festivities at Bakersfield College, CSU Bakersfield, Arvin Cemetery, and at Golden State Plaza...

Ohhh I've been wanting this book! I was so jealous when Posh Malcolm gave you that book at the Yosemite Writer's Conference! I wanted to steel it! I'm going to have to buy this book! I love the Day of the Dead holiday and celebrations and the images in this book are amazing! I'm sure the story is as well...

It's not really a story as much as history of Day of the Dead and a history and exhibition of what goes on at the Oakland Museum. It's Oakland Museum's biggest event, with thousands passing through on a Sunday in October...

The book is also bilingual, which is really nice.

And yes, Malcolm Margolin is posh.

I can't wait till tonight. I'm excited to expose my children to a little bit of their Mexican culture.

But mostly I'm just really curious to see what they will have to say about their experience tonight!

That video was cool but that hairy spider skeleton thing creeped me out. Great visual otherwise!
