I love coming across Bakersfield bands who I'm not very familiar with. Knives for Eyes just completed a demo. You can hear some of their music on myspace.

They're a very cool band. I meant to catch their gig last night, but I was stuck with my kids...
I've kept tabs on them since their 40 to One days, and I really dig a lot of what they're doing with their tunes.
A couple of months ago, I was headed out of the Taco Bell on Hageman & Calloway and a Jeep pulled up right in front of me... My initial reaction to the dude swinging open his door and reaching towards me, was "here we go"... but it turned out to be Kevin from Knives to Eyes saying whats up and handing me their first demo...
Good dudes.
I totally dig their pop punk sound. The vocals are sweet too... I like when I can hear what the heck is being said.
Well first off thanx to n.l, i think its cool that you support local music the way you do. Yes we were formerly 40toOne, started as a three piece and then a four piece. Now another new line-up as a four piece, new name and new style. We all really love the music that we're playing and we all get along really well so I think this group of guys will stick for good. We played our first big show as Knives For Eyes last night at the dome and we had a great turn out. Its only our 2nd show with Knives so we're definetely trying to get back into action and start playing a lot and getting out of town as well. A really good band, 3rd World Assassins, has helped us get back into the scene and we're looking forward to playing more shows with them and other bands in town. For now we're working on new stuff and trying to get the music out there. We have the greatest friends and family to support us which is really awesome. When it comes down to it, we just want to have fun and we're always looking for a good time. kevin Knives For Eyes

Yeah we're all born and raised here in bako. Some of the things on our site are kinda inside jokes that we get a kick out of. I really dont even know what crunk is!?! We listen to and are influenced by so many bands we cant list them, we wouldnt want to leave anyone out. So the ones we have are just for laughs. We dont have much said about us on the page either;we're just 4 really laid back dudes who like to drink beer and make each other laugh. Other than that you have to come see us play to see who we really are.

We just found out that we will be playing tonight at Jerry's. Its a last second deal but we're stoked about it. I think the doors are at 7:00. Hopefully someone will read this before then!
