Interesting news question while Bakotopia on KRAB radio with Meathead and Rocky Nash - By N.L. Belardes
Just what is a media blog? Is Paperback Writer news? And just what is the value of Bakersfield's leading media blog?
Conversation I heard a few minutes ago on KRAB radio with Rocky Nash and Meathead about whether the news was at Backstage for the first Bakotopia CD release party.
Meathead: Was the news there?
Matt Munoz: No
Meathead: Well they should have been.
Isn’t Bakotopia itself the news? They are owned by the Bakersfield Californian. Or did they mean television or major newspaper representatives? And yes, a Californian photographer (He contracts with them, so is it safe to say he works for the Californian?) was there. Personally, I think the Noveltown media blog, Paperback Writer is news/media/etc. Noveltown posted an article/interview, and photos from that night.
Hmm...
And if Paperback Writer isn’t news, what is it? Just a blog? Every news site has blogs these days. Are blogs media/news?
What does the Paperback Writer blog mean to you? Do tell. I’m interested what Noveltown readers think.
Oh, and yes, I heartily support the Bakotopia CD! I just think the radio comments make for an interesting discussion! Support!

Paperback Writer to me is a very informative news and cultural resource.
It's not just a routine coverage like on the news on TV.
The Homework is actually done and it has living breathing intellectual coverage and opinions of events, news and anything you can think of.
It's not a bunch of PC bullshit and it's speaks the truth. It speaks are language. A language you can relate to. Revolution, humor, locals support, debates, from the PEOPLES point of view, and not a city council filtered shit party.
When I think of "news" I think of women with lots of makeup and big hair and guys in suits cracking jokes that are only funny to him.
Good question of the day, mi amigo!
Meathead meant "televised" news.
I know, you know, and most of us know the value of blogs and alt-news sources, or else we wouldn't be here, right?
Had we had more time for questions, I wanted to mention the great Random Times interview, Paperback Writer coverage, our sponsors, and the bands, which I am most grateful for, but alas, there's always another media appearance!
It was early and a brainfart should be pardoned..
Catch me TOMORROW on CH. 29's morning show 3/9 at 6AM!
Thanks again for your help!!

Matt, an eternal diplomat. Was an interesting discussion on the radio.
Though Meathead should have been clear. In fact, there were other bloggers there as well who provide coverage and help promote Bakotopia...
That's nice that the RT was there. I wonder if they stayed the entire night in Backstage, or hung out in the parking lot while the bands were performing?
I did see Richard Bramer there. I haven't picked up the RT. Is he writing for them? Editing? I thought it was interesting that he showed up. I've never seen him at a local music gig.
