JJ Abrams Transformers trailer mystery for Cloverfield project - By N.L. Belardes
In a world where there's a lot of transparent movie marketing comes a film trailer on par with the old Empire Strikes Back trailer of yesteryear: A blank snowy screen. At-At walkers entering a a blizzardy landscape...mystery.
Just when I thought Hollywood had done away with movie trailers that are mysterious, sneaky, and with hooks as good as any great guitar riffs, comes JJ Abrams trailer.
Movie title? None. Scary trailer? Yes.
Think Blair Witch low budget cameras but in a realistic urban landscape.
I shall say no more.
And though Transformers is very entertaining, it's the JJ Abrams trailer that stole the show...
By the way, I noticed Abrams is going to be involved with a new Star Trek movie coming out in 2008.
