Nur Polat - Photographer/Artist

Nur Polat is a rare photographer/artist who captures the essence of humanness within inescapable frames of poignant photographic moments. Her series for Cubicles provides an outlook to her dynamic talents in photography and sculpture, as well as her fascinating eye for composition and lighting. Here you can peruse her studies for Cubicles as well as some of her photography for which she is becoming known for throughout her native country of Turkey.
1978 - Born in Istanbul, Turkey 2002 - Mimar Sinan University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Ceramics-Glass 2002 - Dark Room Photographic Studies 2002 - ‘You Were Sleeping’ exhibition at Coffee Rainbow, Istanbul 2002 - Kapital Medya literary magazine Mediacat photos 2002 - Wide Angle photography magazine 2002 - Founded Atelier-Studio with photographer-painter. Includes painting and photography school and atelier of ceramics program 2004 – Co-created ‘Group 11’: nine-artist exhibition of painting and sculpture in The Festival of Films 2004 - Freelance magazine photographic studies of culture and life in Istanbul: ‘Open’, The Baby and Family’, and ‘Pharmascope’ CURRENT - Nur continues to take photographs in her native country of Turkey; she also paints and creates a wide range of exciting ceramic projects at ‘Cocoon’, her studio in Istanbul. The first exhibition for artists at her studio begins March 26, 2005 and will display the works of Yeditepe University Photography Club. The show will run for two weeks.
